IIM Ranchi formally welcomed the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) Batch of 2025-30 through its Inauguration Ceremony held at the Vivekananda Auditorium on campus. The event was graced by Guest
Speakers Ms. Kawalpreet Kaur, Assurance Leader at RSM US-India, and Ms. Neelima Burra, Chief Strategy, Transformation & Marketing Officer at Luminous Power Technologies, along with Director of IIM Ranchi Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Dean of Academics Prof. Tanusree Datta, and Chairperson - IPM Prof. Raveesh Krishnankutty. The dignitaries performed the ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by Saraswati Vandana.
In his address, Prof. Srivastava warmly welcomed students, parents, and guests, congratulating the new batch on this significant milestone. He spoke about the importance of Commencement Day in the life of the institute and its members, and reflected on IIM Ranchi’s motto - बहुमुखविकासो गन्तव्यः (Bahumukh Vikas Gantavya) - representing the holistic development of students, scholars, and faculty. He highlighted the enablers of holistic growth at IIM Ranchi, including an experimental learning culture, problem-centric pedagogy, a newly implemented attendance policy, and the shift from traditional mid-term examinations to AI-centric problem solving. Beyond the classroom, he noted the institute’s focus on initiatives such as the Young Change Makers Programme, social internships, Happiness Corners, and the Social Impact and Student Development Committee. He encouraged students to create a lasting legacy during their time at the institute.
Ms. Kaur, in her keynote address, advised students to pace themselves through the challenges ahead, emphasizing the importance of balance and respect in all interactions. She shared her “5Cs” mantra for personal and professional success - Competency, Courage, Consistency, Communication, and (Moral) Compass.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Burra encouraged students to be bold in their pursuits and to strive to be the best version of themselves, regardless of challenges. She shared her commitment to supporting young leaders and emphasized the T-Shaped leadership model - combining deep domain expertise with a curious and open mindset, embracing lifelong learning, and building meaningful connections.
The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Krishnankutty, who congratulated the new batch and expressed gratitude to all attendees. This was followed by interaction sessions between the students and the Dean of Academics, Chairperson - IPM, and Prof. Gaurav Manohar Marathe, Chairperson - SEDC.
The IPM 2025-2030 batch comprises 58 students from diverse academic, professional, and geographic backgrounds. The Inauguration marks the beginning of a comprehensive induction programme designed to ease students into life at IIM Ranchi through sessions on pedagogy, alumni insights, industry engagement, and student-driven initiatives.
Through this Inauguration Ceremony, IIM Ranchi reaffirmed its commitment to shaping thoughtful, ethical, and future-ready leaders, equipped not only for corporate success but also for making meaningful contributions to society.
