Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organization (WRWWO) organized a felicitation ceremony for winners of Essay, Drawing and Painting Competitions and also launched a social welfare initiative titled “Empowerment
starts with Hygiene” at Western Railway Headquarters.
According to a press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer, Western Railway, Shri Vineet Abhishek, a total of 37 awardee children from three categories, i.e. Essay, Drawing & Painting and Inter-Division Drawing & Painting Competition, were felicitated with cash awards and merit certificates by Mrs. Neeta Gupta, President, WRWWO, in the presence of Executive Committee Members of WRWWO.
Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Neeta Gupta encouraged the children to pursue hobbies of their interest and emphasized the importance of participation in extracurricular activities along with academics for overall development. She appreciated and commended the creativity and performance of the participants in the competitions.
At the same event, the “Empowerment starts with Hygiene” project was also launched. Under this initiative, sanitary pads will be distributed to women from economically weaker sections of the community to promote health, hygiene awareness and dignity. As part of the initiative, contract women workers working at the Headquarters Office of Western Railway were handed over sanitary napkins along with hand towels and soap as hygiene kits by Mrs. Neeta Gupta, reinforcing WRWWO’s commitment towards women empowerment, health and social welfare.
Western Railway, through WRWWO, continues to actively support initiatives aimed at nurturing young talent and promoting inclusive social welfare measures for the well-being of the community.
