Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways will award 100 deserving railway employees for meritorious and commendable performance in various categories and will present Shields to Zonal Railways for outstanding
performance in the Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar (AVRSP) function, 2025, to be held on 09th January 2026 at the India International Convention & Expo Centre, Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, Delhi.
The award includes presentation of Shields to Zonal Railways and a Silver Medal and Merit Certificate to the individual awardees.
For the year 2025, services of 5 Central Railway Officials are being recognised with the coveted honour.
The details of the awardees are as follows:
1. Manish Kumar, Dy.Chief Materials Manager (Electrical), Headquarters, Mumbai* will be awarded for efficient procurement enabling successful periodic overhauling (POH) of 72 locos this year, with over 1,800 stock items worth Rs.300 crores and Designing and implementation of a proactive system that ensures monsoon preparedness, and 100% availability of safety-critical items achieved through timely settlement of 108 tenders and 425 direct acceptance cases, saving Rs.2.80 crores.
2. Himanshu Ramdeo, Sr.Divisional Electrical Engineer(Operations), Bhusaval division* will be awarded for his efforts in developing a Yard signal layout App for better learning of yard signals to Crew and App ‘OHMS’ for monitoring of crew working hours thus improving Operational efficiency and reducing failures & detention on crew account by 59%.
3. Sanjay Kumar Behera, Chief Enquiry Inspector, Headquarters, Mumbai* will be awarded for his efforts in conducting preventive checks and proposing a recovery of Rs.47.11 crores towards OHE maintenance costs at sidings ( to be borne by private siding owners), of which Rs.9.78 crores have been recovered.
4. Hanumant Arun Wagh, Train Ticket Inspector, Headquarters, Mumbai* will be awarded for special efforts in curbing ticketless & irregular travel by recovery of Rs.84.60 lakhs as penalty single handled from 11.949 cases of passengers travelling without ticket/proper ticket in FY 2024-25.
5. Praduman Kumar, Track Maintainer, Nagpur division* will be awarded for his keen observation skills in identifying a rail weld fracture on the Nagri – Chikni section of Nagpur division during his morning patrolling and subsequent quick action in preventing a potential mishap.
These awards recognise the efforts put in by the officials and motivates others to excel in their regular working. The awards act as a reminder that genuine efforts are being recognised and the good deeds do not go unnoticed.
