It is aimed at translating policy intent into real-world, population-scale impact. In the run-up to the conference, the meeting of the IndiaAI Working Group on 'AI for Economic Growth and Social Good' will be held in Lucknow today in a hybrid format, jointly convened by MeitY, IndiaAI and the Uttar Pradesh government. This comes just a few days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a roundtable meeting with Indian AI start-ups at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. He emphasised the need to ensure that Indian AI models are ethical, unbiased, transparent and based on data privacy principles. The discussion saw participation of 12 Indian AI startups that have qualified for the AI for All: Global Impact Challenge at the upcoming summit. These startups praised India’s strong commitment to advancing the artificial intelligence ecosystem in the country. They highlighted the rapid growth and vast future potential of the AI sector, noting that the centre of gravity of artificial intelligence innovation and deployment is beginning to shift towards India. They said that India now offers a robust and enabling environment for AI development, firmly placing the country on the global AI map.
