IndiGo has launched new direct flights connecting Kolkata and Purnea, starting September 15, 2025. Flights will operate thrice a week. Purnea is IndiGo's
94th domestic and 137th overall destination, and the fourth in Bihar. This new service also marks the inauguration of the Purnea airport, enhancing connectivity to Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

Flights on this new route will be operated with IndiGo's ATR aircraft, ensuring seamless and affordable air travel for customers between Bihar's Seemanchal region and Kolkata, eastern India's major aviation hub. With this, travellers from Purnea will get access to IndiGo's vast domestic and international network via Kolkata. Purnea is preparing for the commercial launch of its airport under the UDAN scheme.
