Mumbai CNG Price Today: Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL) announced another hike in compressed natural gas (CNG) prices today, May 30. This is the second increase
in CNG rates within just two weeks. The company has raised CNG rates across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region by 2 per kg. The revised prices took effect from midnight between May 29 and May 30. Following the latest revision, the retail price of CNG has surged to 86 per kg from 84 per kg. Similarly, the price of domestic PNG has increased to 52 per SCM.
Second CNG price hike in May
Earlier on May 13, the CNG prices were hiked by Rs 2 per kg.
The rate applies across Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, and surrounding areas served by MGL. MGL also supplies CNG to Kalyan, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Chitradurg, Davengere, Latur, and Osmanabad.
Domestic piped natural gas (PNG) rates have also been increased by 50 paise per standard cubic metre (SCM), according to Good Returns.
12 lakh CNG-run vehicles across MMR to be impacted
The increase is expected to impact nearly 12 lakh CNG-run vehicles operating across Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), including around 2.8 lakh auto-rickshaws. The previous revision in CNG prices came into effect on May 13.
