and Iran. Even though the US has recently enforced a complete naval blockade, crude prices slipped around the USD 90 per barrel mark as traders began factoring in the possibility of a second round of peace negotiations reportedly linked to discussions in Pakistan. In India, retail prices of petrol and diesel at government-run fuel stations have remained unchanged for the day, even as earlier fluctuations continue to influence aviation fuel and commercial gas segments.

State-run oil marketing companies maintained stable retail rates, though some private fuel retailers and premium-grade fuels saw upward adjustments. Companies like Nayara Energy and Shell India have revised prices in response to margin pressures amid sustained higher crude levels.
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) raised the price of its premium XP100 petrol in Delhi to Rs 160 per litre from Rs 149, effective April 1. Meanwhile, Shell India’s regular petrol in Bengaluru was priced around Rs 119.85 per litre.
In aviation, Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) saw a temporary spike before being partially reduced again for domestic airlines. To cushion consumers and support public sector oil firms, the Government of India cut excise duties on petroleum products on March 26, 2026, reducing petrol duty to Rs 3 per litre and fully removing diesel duty. This measure is aimed at helping major state-run oil companies such as HPCL, BPCL, and IOC manage the effects of high crude oil prices.
