crossing 400 (severe category) at 27 monitoring stations and several others slipping into the 'severe plus' range, exposing residents to extremely hazardous pollution.
Delhi Airport issued travel advisory
More than 500 flights were delayed, and at least 14 flights were cancelled at the Delhi airport due to bad weather and low visibility conditions yesterday, December 22. Due to prevailing weather conditions, the Delhi Airport has yet again issued a travel advisory today, December 23, stating that, “While landings and takeoffs continue at Delhi Airport, flights not CAT III compliant may be affected, and passengers are advised to contact their airlines for updated information; any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.”

IndiGo flight cancellations on Dec 23: Check the list of cancelled flights
IndiGo issued a travel advisory on Tuesday morning, December 22, stating, “Pragyaraj, Ayodhya, and Pantnagar remain wrapped in chilly winter air and lingering fog this morning, causing fluctuating visibility that has affected flight schedules, while on-ground teams prioritise safety and adherence to visibility requirements as operations proceed.”
It further added, “Our airport teams are also available to assist should you need support while at the terminal. Once the weather settles, operations will gradually stabilise, and flights will depart as planned.”
IndiGo airline also issued a travel advisory for Ranchi, Patna, Hindon, Jammu and others stating that, “The fog continues to linger over Ranchi, Patna, Hindon, Jammu & Varanasi, resulting in slower flight movements. Departures and arrivals to and from these cities, as well as certain routes across our network, may experience short delays as we work through the weather conditions.

SpiceJet has also issued an advisory stating that due to expected bad weather (poor visibility) in Delhi (DEL), Amritsar (ATQ), Jammu (IXJ), Ayodhya (AYJ), Gorakhpur (GOP), Varanasi (VNS), Darbhanga (DBR), Patna (PAT) and Bagdogra (IXB), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights might get affected.
