Thunderstorms with lightning are expected in Tamil Nadu until November 21, Kerala and Mahe on November 18 and 19, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema on November 18, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands until November 23.
Mist or shallow fog in Delhi
The weather in Delhi is likely to be partly cloudy, with mist or shallow fog during the morning hours. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 25-27°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to be in the range of 9-11°C.
On Monday, the national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 27.1°C and a minimum of 8.7°C. The air quality in Delhi continues to be a major concern, generally falling in the 'Severe' or 'Very Poor' category.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the capital's overall Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 346 (very poor) at 9 am on Tuesday.
Cold wave and cold day warnings
A cold wave is anticipated across several regions of central and western India over the next few days. Specifically, west Madhya Pradesh faces a significant risk of severe cold wave conditions on November 18 and 19, with conditions slightly easing to general cold waves in isolated areas on November 20 and 21.
Concurrently, isolated parts of east Rajasthan and east Madhya Pradesh are expected to experience cold wave conditions from November 18 to 20.
Other affected areas include Chhattisgarh, Marathwada, Telangana, and Madhya Maharashtra, which will likely see cold waves on November 18 and 19, while Vidarbha's cold wave conditions are forecast exclusively for November 18.
As per the forecast, no significant change in minimum temperatures is expected over the plains of northwest India, central India, east India, and the northern part of Peninsular India for the next two days.
Following this period, however, minimum temperatures are likely to rise by 2-3°C across northwest, central, and east India. Additionally, shallow to moderate fog conditions are anticipated to affect northeast India throughout the week.
