Residents of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) woke up to heavy rainfall on Friday (August 29) morning which caused severe waterlogging and traffic congestion in the city.

Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow alert for the national capital for the day with a forecast of moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning through the day in Delhi.
Heavy downpour disrupted normal life, with commuters facing major traffic snarls on the Delhi-Noida-Direct (DND) Flyway, Mathura Road, Vikas Marg, ISBT, Geeta Colony and Rajaram Kohli Marg., according to PTI.
Visuals from Sangam Vihar Neem Chowk Road showed vehicles navigating through submerged streets.

of vehicles was also reported along Badarpur to Ashram route, causing major delays for office goers and school buses.
According to IMD, the relative humidity at 8:30 am was 92%, indicating a humid day ahead. The minimum temperature was 26.2°C, 0.3 degrees below normal, with the maximum forecast to be approximately 34°C, according to the IMD.

As per the IMD's 8:30 am observations,
Delhi has received varying amounts of rainfall in the last 24 hours. Safdarjung received 13.4 mm of rainfall, Palam 6.2 mm, Lodhi Road 9.8 mm, Ridge 1.8 mm, and Aya Nagar 29.3 mm.
The city's air quality index (AQI) was 'moderate' at 110 as of 9 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
Amid heavy rain in the national capital, Delhi Airport issued a passenger advisory at 10:39 am.
"As per the Indian Meteorological Department's forecast, inclement weather conditions are expected in Delhi.
However, flight operations at Delhi Airport are currently normal. For the latest flight information, passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines,” it said.
