There were a total of five people on board, including three passengers, one pilot, and one crew member. The aircraft crashed-landed at Baramati during landing near the threshold at Runway 11 at 8:48 am.
It was a VTSSK Learjet 45 aircraft.
Multiple reports said Pawar was scheduled to attend multiple political events in Baramati today. Preliminary information suggested that the aircraft encountered trouble while landing at the Baramati airstrip during Pawar’s visit to the town.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah both contacted Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and received information and updates about the Baramati plane crash, the state government said. The Chief Minister has cancelled his Konkan rally which was scheduled for today.
