The 11.165 km long metro line will connect the East part to the West Lucknow from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj. The project is scheduled to be completed in five years.
On operationalisation of Phase-1B, Lucknow will have 34 km of active Metro rail network. The project will be implemented by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, a joint venture of the Centre and the Uttar Pradesh government.

In a statement, the government said Phase-1B of the Lucknow Metro Rail Project represents a

- Length: Approximately 11.165 km
- 12 metro stations -- seven underground and five elevated
- Improve public transportation in the oldest and the densely populated areas of the city
This phase aims to seamlessly integrate the key zones of Old Lucknow, including commercial hubs such as Aminabad, Yahiyaganj, Pandeyganj and Chowk. It will also integrate other key zones
"vital areas with the Metro network, Phase-1B will not only enhance connectivity but also stimulate economic activity, tourism, and ease urban mobility for both residents and visitors," it said.
The current Phase 1A of Lucknow Metro is 22.87 km long and has 21 metro stations between CCS Airport to Munshi Pulia. It is operation since 2019.
