All operations were cancelled in the interest of safety, Srinagar Airport said in a statement.
"Due to adverse weather conditions and continuous snowfall in Srinagar, the runway is currently not available for safe aircraft operations. In the interest of passenger safety, all flight operations to and from Srinagar have been cancelled for the day,” an Airports Authority of India (AAI) official said, as per news agency PTI.
He added that airport authorities and airlines are keeping a close watch on the situation and that services would resume once conditions improve and the runway is cleared for operations.
A total of 58 flights — 29 arrivals and 29 departures — were cancelled because of the snowfall.

Rain and gusty winds disrupt Delhi airport
Meanwhile, flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport were also impacted after spells of rain and strong winds swept across the national capital on Tuesday, January 27, prompting airlines to issue advisories.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) placed several districts under weather alerts.
Airlines warn of delays, cancellations
Leading carriers including IndiGo, Akasa Air and SpiceJet cautioned passengers about potential delays and disruptions.

SpiceJet also warned that arrivals and departures, along with subsequent flights, could be affected due to heavy rain in Delhi.
