What is the story about?
The authorities recovered the car of 27-year-old software engineer Yuvraj Mehta who lost his life when his SUV plunged into a fog-covered, water-filled construction pit in Noida, after four days.
The recovery comes as a Special Investigation Team (SIT) continues to probe alleged safety violations and administrative lapses linked to the incident, as per News18.
Mehta died on the night of January 16 after his vehicle fell into an uncovered ditch at an under-construction site in Sector 150 of Greater Noida.
The pit, reportedly concealed by fog and rainwater, remained inadequately barricaded, raising serious questions about on-site safety measures.
Family seeks meeting with UP CM Yogi Adityanath
As the investigation gathers momentum, Mehta’s family has sought a meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Speaking to reporters in Greater Noida, Yuvraj’s father Rajkumar Mehta said the family wished to personally meet the chief minister.

Significant administrative action has already been initiated, according to Gautam Budhh Nagar MP Mahesh Sharma. Addressing the media at the incident site, Sharma outlined the steps taken to fix responsibility.

He further said he had interacted with SIT members and was assured of a fair inquiry. "Whoever is responsible, their accountability will be fixed and punishment will be given," he said, as per News18.
