Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will undertake a State Visit to India from February 18 to 22, 2026, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.
Addressing the media, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said President Lula will participate in the 2nd AI Summit scheduled to be held in New Delhi from February 19 to 20. The summit is expected to form a key part of the visit, with the Brazilian leader joining discussions alongside Indian counterparts and other participants.
The main day of bilateral engagements during the State Visit will be February 21, when formal talks between India and Brazil are scheduled to take place. On the same day, President Lula will be hosted by the President of India as part of the official programme.
Several high-level meetings have also been planned during the visit. According to the MEA, a number of dignitaries are expected to call on the Brazilian President, including the Vice President of India. These interactions are aimed at strengthening diplomatic and institutional engagement between the two countries.
President Lula will be accompanied by a delegation that includes several ministers as well as representatives from the business community. A series of events have been planned to engage the visiting business delegation, reflecting a focus on expanding economic and commercial cooperation alongside political dialogue.
