According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), several areas across the city recorded the worst air quality, with AQI readings exceeding 400.
As per the CPCB, Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 455, while Bawana registered an AQI of 409 and Wazirpur 443. Areas such as Okhla Phase 2 (403), Rohini (440), Punjabi Bagh (426), and Patparganj (431) also saw deteriorating air quality, settling in the 'severe' category.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert of very dense fog in the national capital on Monday, with minimum temperatures likely to hover between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius.
On Monday, visuals shared by ANI and PTI show a dense layer of toxic smog engulfing New Delhi, significantly reducing visibility across the city.

The runway at the Indira Gandhi International Airport also witnessed dense fog, resulting in several flight delays.

Amid zero-visibility fog on Monday morning, around 200 flights were delayed, while some were cancelled at the Delhi airport. According to FlightRadar24 data, as many as 144 departures and 51 arrivals were delayed at around 8:45 am on Monday, while six flights were cancelled.
The airport sources added that as many as 128 cancellations and 8 diversions were reported from Delhi Airport due to dense fog as of 11 am.
As dense fog enveloped the national capital, Delhi Airport issued a passenger advisory at 10 am. The advisory stated, "Due to persistent dense fog, flight operations continue to remain under CAT III conditions which may result in flight delays. For the most up-to-date flight information, we request you to contact your respective airlines or visit our website."

Several airlines also advised passengers to check their flight status before arriving at the airport. IndiGo Airlines issued an advisory, stating that operations may be slower than usual as fog continues to persist across Delhi and several airports in northern India.

In light of the weather department's forecast of foggy conditions, Air India issued a caution on Sunday evening indicating that flight delays were expected.
