A total of 152 flights were cancelled, including 79 departures and 73 arrivals at the Delhi Airport, the authorities said. These included two international departure and arrival flights each.
Several train operations were also affected due to dense layer of fog covering the Delhi NCR. Airlines have issued advisories, while many trains were delayed.
Delhi Airport had also issued an advisory stating that the dense fog in the national capital was affecting flight schedules.
"Due to prevailing dense fog conditions, flight operations are currently being managed under CAT III conditions, which has led to disruptions in flight schedules," Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
News agency PTI reported delay in departure and arrival of trains from the capital's Anand Vihar Railway Station in the morning.
