The advisory, dated August 4, cites inputs from central security agencies warning of possible threats from anti-social elements or terrorist groups, with specific reference to a Pakistani terror outfit, PTI reported.
BCAS has also stressed the need for close coordination with local police, CISF, the Intelligence Bureau, and other agencies. Any intelligence or alerts received should be immediately shared with relevant stakeholders.
"In view of the recent inputs received from the central security agency indicating a potential threat from anti-social elements or terrorist groups airports during September 22-October 02, 2025, all stakeholders at all airports are directed to enhance security measures at all the civil aviation installations like airports, airstrips, airfields, air force stations, helipads," BCAS said in its advisory.
Key measures include strict ID checks for staff, contractors, and visitors, along with continuous monitoring of CCTV systems to ensure no lapses in surveillance.
The advisory has been sent to state police forces, airport operators, and airlines.
On April 22, a group of terrorists killed 26 people, mostly tourists, in Baisaran area of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. All three terrorists, linked to The Resistance Front, were killed under Operation Mahadev last month.
