The court also recorded an undertaking from Karisma Kapoor and Rani Kapur that details of the assets and the will would not be leaked to the media.
Appearing for Kapoor's children, lawyers alleged that Priya Kapur was using confidentiality as a "cloak to fritter away assets" and accused her of giving selective information to the press to project them as greedy. They also claimed that Sunjay Kapur owned a 6% stake in Aureus, a holding company of a trust controlling Sona Comstar shares, which had been appropriated by Priya Kapur.
Priya Kapur told the court that the matter should not be debated in the press, stressing that private assets cannot become the subject of public discussion. She also pointed out that she had spent ₹96 lakh on Karisma’s children even after the suit was filed.
Rani Kapur argued that experts, including forensic accountants and handwriting specialists, would be required to examine the will and trace assets across jurisdictions.
