More overseas opportunities will open up for professional services such as chartered accountants, doctors and architects under various Free Trade Agreements
(FTAs) India will help open up overseas opportunities for these professionals, commerce secretary Rajesh Agrawal said on Wednesday, December 24.
India has signed three such trade deals this year including those with the UK, Oman, and New Zealand.
He said that India has immense potential to meet the rising global demand for professional services and urged professional bodies like the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) to actively organise and take part in international conferences.
Agrawal was speaking at 'Expanding Global Horizons: Opportunities for Indian Professionals' in New Delhi on Tuesday, December 23.
More recently, the FTA with New Zealand that was officially concluded on Monday, features committment to a quota of 5,000 visas for professional yoga instructors, chefs, Ayush professionals, IT, education teachers, nurses, and caregivers.
