The Election Commission of India (ECI) is scheduled to hold a press conference around 4:30 pm on Monday (October 27), to announce the schedule for the Special Intensive Review (SIR) of electoral rolls across India.
Recently, Bihar witnessed the SIR exercise ahead of assembly elections.
While the election commission has not mentioned that the press conference would be around implementing SIR across India, reports suggest that the EC is going to announce the schedule for the voter list revision.
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is scheduled to address the presser along with Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sindhu and Vivek Joshi.
Bihar, where the SIR was concluded, is scheduled to go to polls in two phases with voting on November 6 and 11, and results on November 14.
