According to the data from the Central Pollution Control Board's (CPCB) Sameer mobile application, as of 8:05 am, the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi was recorded at 395, nearing the severe category.
Only 38 out of 40 pollution monitoring stations were functioning and almost all of them recorded air quality in the severe range.
Locations like Anand Vihar (444), Ashok Vihar (442), Chandni Chowk (408), Jahangirpuri (443), Nehru Nagar (431), and Wazirpur (445), among others recorded AQI in "severe" category.

Pollution monitoring stations in Alipur (390), Aya Nagar (328), IGI Airport (320), IIT Delhi (338), Lodhi Road (356), among others recorded air quality in the very poor range.
Only NSIT Dwarka (300) recorded air quality in the moderate range.

A layer of dense fog continued to engulf the national capital and surrounding areas on January 20. The visibility was affected and traffic and travel disruptions were expected.
