What is the story about?
Students of Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka were evacuated on Monday morning after the institution received yet another bomb threat call, the third such incident in recent weeks. Authorities immediately cleared the premises as
a precaution, while police, bomb disposal and dog squads carried out intensive searches.
According to officials, the threat was received over email through a Gmail ID and circulated to multiple schools across the capital. Along with DPS Dwarka, Modern Convent School in Sector 4, Dwarka, and ShreeRam World School in Sector 10, Dwarka, also reported receiving similar messages.
Although the two earlier threats had turned out to be hoaxes, security agencies said they were treating the latest warning with “utmost
seriousness.” Fire tenders were also kept on standby during the operation.
In a circular to parents, DPS Dwarka confirmed that the school had been shut for the day. “Kindly note that the school has been closed for today i.e. Monday, 18 August 2025 due to unavoidable circumstances,” the notice read. It added that students travelling by school bus and private vans were being sent back immediately, with teachers on duty sharing live location details. Parents of children commuting privately were asked to collect their wards from designated gates based on class groups, from
Pre-School at Gate No. 7 to Classes X–XII at Gate No. 1.
The school also informed parents that Monday’s scheduled tests, activities and events had been postponed, with revised dates to be announced later.
