Trump to Announce India Tariff at 2 AM?

Amid the rising stakes and escalating rhetoric surrounding trade and tariffs, Donald Trump will reportedly make an announcement at 4:30 PM ET or 2 AM Indian Standard Time.

The White House confirmed this

report, as the public schedule of the president available online indicated the same.

This comes after the president threatened India with additional penalty tariffs on account of India's trade, particularly crude oil trade with Russia.

In the most recent development in Trump's ongoing tirade against India, Trump issued a 24-hour warning to the South Asian nation and warned of an escalation in the magnitude of the tariff from the current 25% flat tariff on Indian exports to the US.

Trump has accused

India of levying extensive tariffs and has repeatedly said that the US does not do a lot of business with India.



After weeks of vigorous negotiations for a trade deal between the US and India, Trump, in a bellicose post on Truth Social, announced a 25% tariff on India.



In another post after that, Trump admonished Russia and India. In his post he said, "I don’t care what India does with Russia. They can take their dead economies down together, for all I care. We have done very little business with India, their Tariffs are too high, among the

highest in the World. Likewise, Russia and the USA do almost no business together. Let’s keep it that way, and tell Medvedev, the failed former President of Russia, who thinks he’s still President, to watch his words. He’s entering very dangerous territory!"













In another post, Trump accused India of making profits if selling Russian oil.

IIn his post, he said, "India is not only buying massive amounts of Russian Oil, they are then, for much of the Oil purchased, selling it on the Open Market for big profits. They don’t care how many

people in Ukraine are being killed by the Russian War Machine. Because of this, I will be substantially raising the Tariff paid by India to the USA. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!! President DJT."
