Early trends indicate a close contest, with the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) running neck and neck in several wards.
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation election results
As per early figures available at the time of writing, the Shiv Sena (Shinde) is leading in 25 seats, while the BJP is ahead in 27 seats. No other party has opened its account so far, according to preliminary data from the counting centres.
The trends are still shifting. Officials have cautioned that these numbers may change as counting progresses through additional rounds.

How the previous Navi Mumbai civic polls played out
In the 2017 Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation election, a total of 111 seats were contested.
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) emerged as the largest party with 52 seats, followed by the undivided Shiv Sena with 38 seats.
The Congress won 10 seats, the BJP secured six, and five seats went to Independents.
Statewide context
The NMMC results are being closely watched against the backdrop of recent local body elections across Maharashtra. In earlier phases, the BJP emerged as the single-largest party in 129 out of 288 local bodies - while the ruling Mahayuti alliance crossed the 200-mark collectively.

In contrast, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) performed modestly, with Congress winning 35 local bodies, and Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) securing eight each.
When the final NMMC results are expected
As counting continues, attention will remain on whether early leads hold once all wards are included. Any narrowing or widening of margins between the Shiv Sena (Shinde) and the BJP could shape the final outcome.
Officials said updates will be released at regular intervals throughout the day. A clearer picture is expected once counting moves beyond the initial phase and the remaining wards are taken up.
