These steps aim to reduce conflicts between humans and wildlife, particularly in areas where animals like elephants, nilgai, bears, leopards and monkeys damage crops and physical infrastructure. The government’s announcement comes amid rising cases of attacks by animals on humans in many parts of the state.
The Chief Minister emphasised that a phased and well-planned security mechanism will be developed to tackle the issue. This technique will use solar fence and sensor-based alarm systems to reduce human-wildlife conflict through effective action.

He added that in order to regulate the population of wildlife such as langurs, monkeys, wild boars and bears, modern wildlife sterilisation (animal birth control) centres will be created in each district. He also stated that rescue and rehabilitation facilities for identified species involved in human-wildlife conflict would be established in all districts of the state.
Meanwhile, the CM also announced plans to establish rescue centres for bears and other wild animals.
Speaking to ANI, the Chief Minister said, "We have a rescue centre for tigers and leopards in Ramnagar, where many tigers and leopards have been rescued. Similarly, rescue centres will also be established for bears and other wild animals."
He stated that a comprehensive plan for implementing these programmes would be developed within the next two weeks. “For this, the Forest Department will be provided with nets, cages, tranquillizer guns, etc. An additional amount of ₹ 5 crore will also be allocated to ensure the availability of these resources and to prevent human-wildlife conflict effectively," he added.
On Friday, Dhami spoke with Union Minister for Forest, Environment and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav over the phone to discuss the rising incidents of human-wildlife conflict in Uttarakhand.
He stated that the Forest Department and administration are taking appropriate steps to address this issue, and that the required directives have been provided to control dangerous wild animals. CM Dhami asked for increased resources and cooperation to address this significant situation.
The Union Minister assured that the Central government will provide all feasible help, focusing on scientific management, contemporary technology and a speedy relief mechanism.
