Hailstorm activity was recorded at isolated locations in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and Delhi, the IMD said in its weather bulletin.
Heavy rainfall was also observed at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and West Madhya Pradesh, while light to moderate rain and snowfall occurred across Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, it added.
Dense fog and cold conditions persist
The IMD said dense to very dense fog conditions prevailed in isolated pockets of Punjab, West Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, with visibility dropping below 50 metres in some areas.
Dense fog was also reported from parts of East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Bihar.

Cold day to severe cold day conditions were observed in parts of Himachal Pradesh, while minimum temperatures across the plains largely remained between 5-10 degrees Celsius.
Amritsar recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 3.7 degrees Celsius, as per IMD.
Fresh western disturbance to affect northwest India
The IMD warned that a fresh western disturbance is expected to affect northwest India from the night of January 30, bringing widespread rainfall and snowfall across the western Himalayan region between January 31 and February 2.
Under its influence, scattered to fairly widespread rain and snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of up to 40 kmph are likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on February 1, the IMD said.
Isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall cannot be ruled out over Himachal Pradesh and adjoining regions on the same day, it added.
Light to moderate rainfall is also expected over the plains of northwest India and adjoining central India during this period.
Fog, cold wave and fishermen warnings issued
The IMD has forecast dense fog conditions during morning and night hours in isolated pockets of northwest India, central India and parts of eastern India until February 2.
Cold wave conditions are likely to persist in isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana till January 31.
Separately, the IMD advised fishermen not to venture into parts of the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea between January 29 and February 2 due to rough sea conditions.
Delhi-NCR weather outlook
For Delhi-NCR, the IMD forecast shallow to moderate fog during morning hours on January 29 and 30, with temperatures remaining below normal.
On January 31, the national capital may witness very light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds towards night, the IMD said.
