Heavy rainfall in West Bengal & Sikkim
The Met Office predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on Wednesday. It also predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) at isolated places over the states.
From September 10 to September 14, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are forecast to experience light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms at many locations. Isolated places may see heavy rainfall during this period.
No alerts for Delhi
The IMD has forecast cloudy skies on Wednesday in the national capital with no rainfall alerts. The maximum temperatures in Delhi will hover between 33°C and 35°C on Wednesday, while the minimum temperature is expected to remain between 24 and 26°C, it said.
Monsoon fury claims 370 lives in Himachal
According to the Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), the devastating monsoon claimed 370 lives in the state between June 20 and Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
A weather forecast from the IMD indicates that Himachal Pradesh is likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds on September 12 and 13, 2025. On September 13, the state is also forecast to receive light to moderate rain and thunderstorms, with isolated heavy rainfall possible.
Light to moderate showers in Maharashtra
As per the IMD, no heavy rainfall alerts have been issued for Wednesday, but light to moderate showers are expected in certain districts of Maharashtra. Maharashtra's weather will see varied activity, with scattered showers and thunder in Marathwada's Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded, and Latur; moderate showers in Mumbai and the Konkan coast; and light showers in Pune and surrounding districts.
