According to the ministry, the rankings reflect an improvement in Odisha’s power distribution infrastructure, with gains reported in billing efficiency and financial performance. TPNODL and TPCODL recorded improvements of more than two percentage points in billing efficiency, as noted in the report.
The assessment also highlighted that all three discoms maintained a Days Receivable period of 60 days or less, indicating an efficient collection cycle. This performance coincided with the power distribution sector turning profitable at the national level for the first time in FY 2025.
Commenting on the rankings, Gajanan Kale, Chief of Odisha Distribution Business and CEO, TPNODL, said the recognition reflected the team’s focus on consumer service and investments in technology aimed at improving network reliability and customer experience.
