The IMD has forecast spells of light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph on January 23, as per news agency PTI.
Very light to light rainfall is also likely in the afternoon or evening.

The weather department said light to moderate rainfall is expected or has been recorded in several parts of Delhi, including Narela, Bawana, Alipur, Burari, Kanjhawala, Rohini, Badli, Azadpur, Model Town, Pitampura, Mundka, Paschim Vihar, Punjabi Bagh, Rajouri Garden, Jafarpur, Najafgarh and Dwarka, as per News18.
Delhi NCR air quality likely to improve
Following the rainfall, Delhi’s air quality is expected to see some improvement.
The city’s overall 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 322 on January 22, placing it in the "very poor" category, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Sameer mobile application.
On January 23, as of 8:05 am, the overall Delhi AQI improved marginally to 293 remaining in the "poor" category. However, 23 pollution monitoring stations out of 39 functioning (total 40), recorded air quality in very poor range.
