Mumbai's cherished Van Rani Toy Train, affectionately known as the 'Queen of the Forest,' has once again started welcoming visitors after a significant
hiatus of five years. This beloved mini-train, a significant draw for families and especially children, is situated within the verdant expanse of Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Borivali (East). It provides a much-needed respite from the city's incessant hustle and bustle, offering a tranquil environment amidst lush greenery and refreshing air. The experience is designed to be both enjoyable and peaceful, allowing patrons to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the park in a fun, eco-friendly manner.
Forest Queen's Route
The moniker 'Van Rani' beautifully translates to 'Queen of the Forest,' a title this charming train truly embodies. Its route is a picturesque passage through the park's dense forested areas, spanning approximately 2 to 3 kilometers and lasting between 15 to 20 minutes. Passengers are treated to captivating vistas of abundant trees, undulating small hills, and the potential thrill of spotting indigenous birds and wildlife. Planning Your Visit
The Van Rani Toy Train operates from the Krishnagiri Station located within the national park premises. It is operational from Tuesday through Sunday, with Mondays designated as a day of rest. The typical operating hours are from 9 AM to 5:30 PM. The train is equipped with expansive glass windows, ensuring that passengers have unobstructed and stunning views of the surrounding natural beauty throughout the ride. To access the park, travelers can conveniently take a local train to Borivali station and then opt for an auto-rickshaw to reach the park entrance.
