Ordering takeout is a reliable source of comfort, especially when it means eating on the couch, pants-optional, with full control of the remote. However, let’s be honest, some dishes fare better on the ride home than others. Thankfully, in Austin, plenty
of restaurants know how to pack flavor that doesn’t wilt or slosh its way into disappointment.
Whether it’s soup dumplings from Mian & Bao in the Triangle, tacos and nachos from mini-chain Taco Flats, comforting bowls from the Soup Peddler, or flavorful chicken dishes from P Thai’s Khao Man Gai & Noodles, these places make to-go food a full-on experience.
A quick note: While delivery apps are convenient, restaurants retain a higher percentage of the profit when orders are placed directly from their own websites or by phone. The spots below all offer takeout and, in many cases, delivery without the need for a third-party app.
In this update, French chicken takeout spot Austin Rotisserie, thin pizza East Side Pies, and healthy grain bowl chain Honest Mary’s join the list. And Kabab Ghar Austin and Artipasta rotate out.
