Hotel restaurants often have a reputation for being throwaway concepts meant to appeal to unadventurous travelers who are too scared to leave the property. Fortunately, many Los Angeles hotels offer culinary experiences, cuisines, and price points that
go against the grain. From sunny dining near the sandy shoreline, a retro-style burger joint in the heart of Koreatown, to high-end eating on the Sunset Strip, here are Los Angeles’s best hotel restaurants for visitors and locals alike.
Although Rebecca Roland is from Los Angeles (and lives in Los Angeles), she’s a proponent of the classic staycation and no-occasion-required hotel dining. She believes that one of the best places to spend early evenings is at a hotel bar, sipping a martini or a glass of chilled red wine.
Matthew Kang hadn’t stayed in a hotel in Los Angeles for leisure until he got married in 2017, at the now-closed Ace Hotel in Downtown. He believes hotel dining in Los Angeles is mostly good, considering the restaurants have to compete with many stellar places to eat around town. His overall favorites have to be the hotel restaurants in Santa Monica, like One Pico, Orla, and Sirena, mostly because of the ocean views.
