With tons of travelers hitting the skies this summer, Eater has updated its guide to eating and drinking at Dulles International Airport
. Instead of going the Uber or pricey parking route, D.C. travelers now have easy access to the airport via Metro’s Silver Line expansion. The full list of open restaurants at Dulles can be found here.
Since this guide was last updated in fall 2025, the Loudoun County airport welcomed Urban Crave, a new destination for burgers, fries, hot dogs, salads, breakfast burritos, and brews at a lengthy bar; and Plum Market, a grab-and-go stop attached to a sit-down bar with a catch-all menu for eggy breakfast dishes, chicken combo plates, mimosas, and margs before a flight. And Eater has learned that the Washington
Commanders Burgundy & Gold Club, a themed sports bar for NFL-obsessed fans full of memorabilia and legends like Joe Gibbs and Sonny Jurgensen, has closed in Concourse B.
Last year, the airport welcomed Fiolina — a full-service edition of chef Fabio Trabocchi’s classy pasta parlor Sfoglina. In Concourse D, the new Grille District offers American classics, breakfast, cocktails, and and local beers.
Fresh fast-casual arrivals over the past year include D.C.’s half-smoke institution Ben’s Chili Bowl, the return of burger pioneer Five Guys, and Clarendon-born smoothie stand South Block — RFK Jr.’s apparent morning drink of choice. And Virginia-based Rappahannock Oyster Bar, which maintains a location at the Wharf, brought its Chesapeake Bay bivalves to the airport alongside sandwiches, salads, desserts, cocktails, and a separate takeout menu. Gatsby, Knead Hospitality + Design’s upscale American diner in Navy Yard, also touched down at IAD.
A construction plan to the tune of $7 billion includes a 14-gate concourse, additional runway, and other expansions catering to an influx of passengers. The new Concourse E, occupied entirely by United Airlines, is expected to open in fall 2026 with a sea of new dining options. That includes a planned food court headlined by Wendy’s, Jimmy John’s, Dunkin’, Dos Toros Taqueria and Stratus Bar; an offshoot of Falls Church, Virginia’s family-friendly restaurant Ellie Bird; and an all-day stall for Good Company Doughnuts & Cafe. The new concourse also promises standalone storefronts from familiar names like Korean-styled fried chicken favorite Bonchon and offshoot of Bethesda, Maryland’s Italian American standout Aventino with a full-service restaurant and central bar, as well as a sit-down iteration of Loudoun County’s own veteran-owned Honor Brewing.
To prepare for peak travel time, flyers can skip the line and order from airport restaurants via mobile phone and pick up their food and drink at the counter. There’s also an expanded assortment of Pepsi vending machines scattered around the airport.
