Taiwan-based restaurant group TTFB, which is also behind Century City’s Very Thai, just expanded its Los Angeles presence with the opening of Bobo Thai in Silver Lake on Sunday, August 2. The restaurant takes over the former Bar Moruno space, serving
a handful of pad Thai preparations alongside rice bowls and Bangkok street food–style snacks.
The menu opens with The 1938, a traditional pad Thai preparation with pork belly. Two Kings, which gets served with tofu, fuses pad Thai with tom yum, while Hot Stuff cranks up the heat with sausage, onions, tofu, and chile pepper. Easy Lover pairs pad Thai with green curry, chicken, and zucchini, and vegans can find an easy option with the vegetable-laden Garden Party, served with tofu, mushrooms, green beans, zucchini, and tamarind sauce. The rest of the noodle options span the Gold Rush, crispy noodles tossed in yellow curry; tom yum soup crowned with crispy enoki mushrooms; and pad see ew with pork, tofu, and broccoli. Meals can be rounded out with snacks that include shrimp toast, green curry chicken wings, and green curry eggplant fries.
A handful of cocktails are also available to sip in the indoor dining room or on the lush patio, including the Bobo Thai Spritz with lychee, raspberry, rose water, and rose, and the gin-based Tom Kha Booze with lemongrass, ginger, lime, and yuzu. TTFB is also slated to open Shann Shann Rice Bar next door to Bobo Thai in the space that was formerly chef Ricardo Zarate’s Causita, but there is no opening timeline yet.
88 Club closes to re-emerge as Tiger Tiger
