New York City is one of the biggest airline hubs in the country and the world — home to not one but three airports (we’ll claim Newark for these purposes). And while airports have never been known for excellent fare, that’s slowly changing. This guide highlights all of the dining options at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in Queens, based on concessions information from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Coming to Terminal 5 this summer: Airport hospitality group OTG has partnered with JetBlue and Fraport USA Inc. to bring in outposts of three familiar brands: Chinatown’s oldest dim sum restaurant Nom Wah, founded in 1920; Melt Shop, founded in 2011, serving grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken melts, milkshakes, and other
comfort classics; and the Halal Guys, serving halal chicken and gyro.
While Eater will continue to update this guide seasonally, the hours and availabilities of these vendors are subject to change, so double-check before you check ’em out. Check out Eater NY’s airport dining guides to LaGuardia and Newark, too.
