The popularity of Atlantic City, New Jersey, has ebbed and flowed through the decades. But regardless of whether the tides are bringing in a spike of new development or a round of casino closures, there’s never been a shortage of good food on and off
the boardwalk in this Jersey Shore destination. The best places to eat in Atlantic City range from a no-frills taco shop and a low-key diner to a historic chop house and a modern Italian American restaurant from a celebrity chef. Looking for a little quieter time? Ventnor City is a short drive away and has some fantastic restaurants of its own.
And there’s plenty of exciting new dining destinations to discover as of late. This marks the first full-blown summer for two Stephen Starr restaurants in Atlantic City’s Ocean Casino Resort: chic French bistro Chez Frites and next-door Sunny’s, serving American comfort foods for breakfast and lunch. And just this month, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City unveiled Sitar, a hot new high-end Indian restaurant as part of the resort’s big $50 million upgrade.
In our latest map refresh, we add: the Iron Room, and for now, we say goodbye to Tony Boloney’s.
