SOMA — The SoMa location of Oasis Grill has closed as of Thursday, October
29, the San Francisco Standard reports. Co-owner Muna Azzghayer told the publication that they were blindsided by the news that the landlord chose not to renew their lease, which expired at the end of October after nearly 30 years; instead, they were told a different restaurant would be moving in, Azzghayer says. The restaurant’s three other locations in the Financial District, Union Square, and another in SoMa remain open. 100 First Plaza, 1st Street #110, San Francisco
WALNUT CREEK — Hops & Scotch Taproom & Whiskey Bar in Walnut Creek is now closed, the Walnut Creek Spotlight reports. No reason for closure was given. 7001 Sunne Lane, Walnut Creek
VALLEJO — The Vallejo location of Italian restaurant Zio Fraedo’s has closed as of Sunday, October 25, after 20 years, the Vallejo Sun reports. The owners announced the closure in a Facebook post, stating that they were unable to come to an agreement with their landlord on rent. “The new monthly rent would far exceed our ability to sustain the restaurant,” according to the post. The post goes on to thank customers for visiting; meanwhile, the Pleasant Hill location remains open. 23 Harbor Way, Vallejo
MENLO PARK, PLEASANTON — Cook’s Seafood in Menlo Park and Pleasanton suddenly closed its doors as of Wednesday, October 28, Palo Alto Online reports. A notice on the door of the Pleasanton location acknowledges that “this year has been very difficult for restaurants,” before it went on to thank customers for visiting the restaurant. Employees were notified the night of the closure via text, and requests for comment from the owner went unanswered, according to the publication. The seafood restaurant and market had been in business for 98 years. 751 El Camino Real, Menlo Park and 6654 Koll Center Parkway #300, Pleasanton
PALO ALTO — The Palo Alto location of Detroit pizza mini-chain Square Pie Guys has closed as of Friday, October 30.
