Oh yes: cherished Brooklyn bakery Radio is opening not one but two new locations in 2027. The first of these is coming to the Upper West Side at 463 Columbus Avenue, near West 82nd Street, followed by another in the West Village at 332 West 13th Street, between Hudson and Gansevoort streets, as originally reported by Feed Me.
A rep confirmed Radio Bakery’s new addresses and the 2027 targeted opening year. Expect the same beloved pastries, including cheesy pretzel bear claws; seasonal croissants like the current gorgeous cherry cheesecake; focaccia and focaccia sandwiches; and breads, along with specials for each shop.
Radio is run by owner and pastry genius Kelly Mencin and the team behind Ridgewood neighborhood restaurant Rolo’s and Mexican American
restaurant Hellbender, which includes Ben Howell and Rafiq Salim, the co-partners of Cookout Food and Drink.
Choosing Manhattan for Radio’s third and fourth expansions was intentional for Howell and Salim. They wanted to bring the bakery into areas that were far away from the two Brooklyn locations (Greenpoint and Prospect Heights), “allowing the team to serve different communities across the city while maintaining the same level of care and independence at each shop,” they write via a rep. At this point, there are no further expansions planned beyond these two.
The original Radio Bakery opened in Greenpoint in 2023, garnering much attention and devoted lines for its impeccable pastries. Prospect Heights followed in 2025.
