The first official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pizzeria just skated onto Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade with a neon-drenched retro dining room, full bar, and New York–style slices. The pizzeria, which held its grand opening on Saturday, June 20,
offers a menu from veteran pizzaiolo Angelo Womack, who previously owned Oak & Rye in San Jose and has worked with restaurants including Roberta’s and Scarr’s Pizza.
At TMNT Pizzeria, find a lineup of 20-inch pies available whole or by the slice, themed after the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe. A simple Cowabunga Cheese arrives topped with mozzarella and tomato sauce, while the TCRI gets topped with stracciatella and a drizzle of “Ooze,” a basil-infused olive oil. Other pies include Splinter’s Supreme with pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms, and the ricotta and mushroom-topped Mutagen Mushroom. Slices cost between $6.50 and $9, while whole pizzas range from $39 to $54 (yes, that’s Ceres-level pricing in New York). A full bar serves cocktails such as a Turtle-Tini with Smirnoff green apple vodka, the pineapple rum–based Cowabunga Cooler, and the Spritz Jitsu, which blends Aperol with orange sparkling water. A handful of mocktails are also available, alongside beer and wine.
The interior channels 1980s and 1990s nostalgia with arcade cabinets, neon signs glowing overhead, and vintage televisions playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reruns. Merchandise, including T-shirts, skateboard decks, and baseball hats, is available for purchase on-site.
