Like so many things in the culinary world, Chicagoans have quite strong opinions about burgers, with many versions of the iconic dish around town gaining devoted followings. This map helps narrow the field, highlighting many of Chicago’s outstanding,
memorable, revered, unique, popular-for-a-reason burgers, reflecting a variety of prices, styles, and neighborhoods.
New to the map this update are South Loop’s Oliver’s, downtown’s the Ives, and the popular traveling Windy City Social Burger Club, which can be consistently found at the South Loop Market at 2340 N California Avenue. Leaving our latest update are DMK Burger Bar, local chain Nicky’s the Real McCoy, and Smash Jibarito at Desert Hawk (Smash Jibarito now has their own location in Humboldt Park, and Desert Hawk has a new pop-up residency).
This list reflects a variety of price points, styles, and neighborhoods, and incorporates individual restaurant info that’s relevant for diners, including a rough range of pricing for each burger from $ for a quick and inexpensive bite that’s about $10, to $$$$ for burgers that exceed $30.
