Sang Yoon, the chef behind gastropub Father’s Office and now-closed Helms Bakery, heads to Costa Mesa with his next restaurant, Tiny’s Burger. Located on the first floor of the South Coast Plaza mall, near the carousel, the restaurant serves a menu from
Yoon and chef Nanor Harboyan (Helm’s, Destroyer) that spans updated Americana classics like burgers, fries, and hot dogs. Tiny’s Burger, named after Yoon’s late Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, opens on June 15.
Tiny’s menu opens with a hamburger or cheeseburger made with a 4-ounce dry-aged patty and topped with Tiny’s Sauce, a blend of gochujang, ssamjang, ketchup, and mustard. A classic 10-inch Nathan’s hot dog on a potato bun is available, alongside the Tokyo Dog topped with Kewpie mayonnaise, sweet soy, furikake, and bonito flakes. The menu rounds out with a tuna melt, chicken nuggets, a chili dog, grilled cheese, salt-and-vinegar tots, and pineapple Dole whip. An attached konbini offers refrigerated sandos alongside a lineup of snacks, beer, and wine. In contrast to Yoon’s infamous no-ketchup, no-modifications policy at Father’s Office, Tiny’s Burger will have both.
