Quick-fix hacks rarely ever work. But wherever there are chia seeds involved, a miracle - read 'science' - is bound to happen. If you're tired of trimming your meals and chugging your water only to still wake up to a bloated stomach, your body may need an external push in processing whatever your intake has been for the previous day - no matter how 'healthy'. Model and wellness creator Mellis Oz, suggests a 5 day morning ritual that could set the ball rolling on your debloat journey. While putting on weight can be a real woe, sometimes it is just water weight and inflammation hanging on to the body, making you feel like you are not doing enough. This 3-ingredient drink could very well change that. Oz describes chia seeds as "your gut's reset
button." As soon as chia seeds come into contact with water they absorb up to 12 times their weight in liquid, creating a dense, gel-like mass. When this makes its way into your gut, it stimulates movement, supports constipation and also feeds the good bacteria in your digestive system, lists Oz. Not just this, simply 2 tablespoons of chia seeds carry as much as 10 grams of fibre, which is a great way to start the morning. The lemon juice on the other hand, works to wake up your digestion by stimulating the production of digestive enzymes and bile, aiding the efficient break down of food. The collagen boost from the vitamin C, also starts showing itself on your skin soon enough. Finally, cucumber is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, also working well on your skin, thanks to its natural silica content. Follow Oz's recipe below.
