In a pattern that's becoming predictable, the debate around GLP-1 drugs keeps taking a lap to re-enter mainstream territory. And for those already on it, or attempting to loose weight they deem extra, the term 'GLP' is sure to light up several corners of the brain, simply for the rate at which it promises to deliver results.Even if you're a health freak - you'd likely be lying if you said the whole hullaballoo around these 'weight loss' drugs haven't got you in the least bit curious - not to mention a desire to bite the bait and try it for yourself. A BBC report recently estimated that about a 100 million people the world over are currently on GLP-1 receptor agonist medications - names like Wegovy and Ozempic being the most recognisable labels
- based on reports from the World Health Organisation. Primarily supposed to be a drug for chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, the recent wave of 'wellness' (if one can any longer fashion it as such) has repurposed the bracket of drugs for speedy weight loss purposes. If you're someone whose still on the fence or find yourself leaning in towards trying out the drug for yourself, wellness and ageing expert Tammy Weatherhead has an alternative suggestion instead. Also Read: Wegovy’s Higher Dose May Burn Fat Faster While Preserving Muscle, Trial Finds
GLP-1 on a Plate?
Sounds like it! Weatherhead explains how the particular recipe she is referring to, has actually gone "viral" in Korea for being "the natural GLP-1". And the most convincing thing about the claim here is that not only does it look rather evidently healthy, but is also super simple to make. Ingredients- 2 eggs
- Sesame oil, to drizzle
- Olive oil, to drizzle
- Flaky Maldon salt, to taste
- Start by boiling the eggs. While you can hard boil them all the way, the jamminess of the entire recipe is what ties it all together, at least on the taste front.
- Once boiled and cooled down enough to handle with your bare hands, peel the eggs and carefully chop each down the centre. Ideally, the kind of stiff but liquid jamminess Weatherhead is trying to achieve comes past the 7-minute mark while boiling the eggs.
- Once the eggs are open, drizzle two halves with sesame oil and the other two halves with olive oil.
- Finish off with a sprinkle of salt. If you do not have sea salt, table salt will work fine too.
