What's Happening?
Spokane Velocity F.C. partnered with Make-A-Wish Washington to grant a shopping spree wish for 15-year-old Henry, who is recovering from lymphoma. During a match against AC Boise, Henry was surprised with gifts including soccer gear, a personalized jersey,
and other essentials. He also participated in pre-match activities, leading the team onto the field and conducting the coin flip.
Why It's Important?
This partnership underscores the positive impact sports organizations can have on their communities by supporting charitable causes. By fulfilling Henry's wish, Spokane Velocity F.C. not only provided a memorable experience for a young fan but also highlighted the role of sports in promoting social good. Such initiatives can enhance the team's community relations and inspire other organizations to engage in similar philanthropic efforts.
