American Airlines is celebrating its 100th anniversary by launching a new in-flight menu inspired by classic dishes from the 1920s. This limited-time menu will be available to domestic First Class passengers
starting in April, featuring modern interpretations of dishes such as Waldorf salad, beef Wellington with roasted vegetables, and pecan tart. For international and transcontinental Flagship First and Flagship Business passengers, the menu will debut in March, offering appetizers like prawn cocktail and Waldorf salad, which will be enhanced in April to include caviar blinis and deviled eggs topped with crème fraîche. Rhonda Crawford, American Airlines’ senior vice president of customer experience design and strategy, stated that the centennial year is an opportunity to reflect on the airline's history while enhancing the customer experience. The menu aims to evoke the elegance of the 1920s with a modern twist, avoiding novelty flair in favor of subtlety.
