In the latest high school softball rankings for the Aurora-Elgin area, St. Charles North has claimed the top position, overtaking St. Charles East. The North Stars secured their spot with a narrow 1-0 victory over their DuKane Conference rivals, St. Charles East,
thanks to a strong performance by senior pitcher Abby Zawadzki and a crucial RBI single by Miranda Quigley. Meanwhile, Hampshire has entered the rankings, showcasing impressive performances by junior shortstop Addison Edlen and junior pitcher Julissa Akins, who both hit home runs to secure a 12-1 win over St. Bede. Other notable performances include Yorkville's Kayla Kersting, who recorded four hits and four RBIs in a win over Lincoln-Way Central, and Oswego East's Katie Silva, who hit three triples and drove in four runs against Plainfield North. Senior catcher Hayden Sujack of St. Charles East was named Player of the Week, setting a school record with 50 career home runs.
