Phil Ray, the General Manager of JW Marriott Indianapolis, has announced his retirement after a distinguished 40-year career in the hospitality industry. Ray has been at the helm of the JW Marriott Indianapolis since 2014, overseeing its operations, including
its 1,013 rooms and extensive meeting spaces. Under his leadership, the hotel has received numerous accolades, such as Condé Nast Traveler’s Top Hotels in the Midwest and several Stella Awards. Ray's career began with Marriott International in 1985, and he has held various leadership roles across the United States. His successor, Fernando Estala, who is currently the General Manager of Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, will take over on June 1, 2026.
