What's Happening?
Orbia Netafim has launched its Dosing 5G product range, aimed at improving fertigation management through AI-driven automation and remote monitoring. The suite includes FertiKit™ 5G, FertiOne™ 5G, NetaJet™ 5G, and NetaFlex™ 5G, which are designed to enhance nutrient dosing accuracy and support growers in managing open fields, orchards, and protected cropping systems. The technology leverages self-learning artificial intelligence to optimize nutrient application, reducing the risk of over- or under-application. Abed Masarwa, VP Products at Orbia Precision Agriculture, emphasized the system's ability to introduce a new standard in precision fertigation with maximum accuracy and minimal intervention.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of the Dosing 5G range represents
a significant advancement in precision agriculture, offering solutions to challenges such as rising input costs, climate variability, and resource constraints. By automating nutrient application, the technology aims to improve operational efficiency, nutrient management, and crop quality, while reducing fertilizer, water, and energy use. This innovation supports growers in balancing productivity, operational efficiency, and environmental responsibility, potentially leading to more sustainable agricultural practices and reduced environmental impact.
What's Next?
The integration of the Dosing 5G range with Orbia Netafim’s GrowSphere™ digital farming operating system suggests further advancements in centralized planning, execution, and monitoring of irrigation and fertigation activities. As early deployments have shown improvements in efficiency and crop quality, the technology may see wider adoption among growers seeking to enhance their agricultural practices. Continued development and refinement of AI-driven systems could lead to more precise and sustainable farming methods.
