Amazon has announced advancements in its Proteus autonomous mobile robot (AMR), which now includes natural-language processing capabilities. This development allows warehouse workers to interact with the robot using simple verbal commands, eliminating
the need for technical programming skills. Proteus is designed to assist with material movement, operating beyond dock areas to transport containers and support delivery site operations. Currently deployed in 24 U.S. fulfillment centers, Amazon plans to expand its use in Europe, alongside other robotic systems like Vulcan and STARK, as part of its broader robotics strategy.
